Isaiah 61:3 paints one of the most breathtaking pictures of God’s heart!
“… to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy
instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of despair.”
Beauty instead of ashes.
Joy instead of mourning.
Praise instead of despair.
The word instead is everything! God never leaves empty spaces. When
you release something, He replaces it with something better. But here’s the
part we forget, you cannot receive with closed hands. If you are anything
like me, you are gripping things that leave no room for God’s gifts.

The fantasy of being in control?
We keep holding these things because we think they protect us, but
instead, they keep us stuck. Friends, God is standing before you with
beautiful gifts that He wants to lavish on you.
